Four races were run out of five possible outings in the Penrose Sails Frostbite pursuit series. The series was well supported, with nearly twenty boats in three of the races.
Roger Little was race officer for the series, which involved him in motoring to Mylor Dockyard, or Pendennis Point to look over the sea and weather and then returning to the clubhouse by midday to put up the course: either the full list of buoys for the day, or the shortened course for light weather.
The last course for the series in a strong westerly involved two roundings of the St Just buoy but had to be abandoned as the Coastguard suggested that the Force 7 of the morning would be stronger in the afternoon. The handful of skippers and crews who had turned up at the clubhouse gave a collective sigh of relief.
