Hire the Clubhouse

The Clubhouse is available for hire.

Please complete our Booking Form and Terms and Conditions.

The Clubhouse

The Clubhouse built and finished in May 2021, boasts exceptional facilities designed to cater to a variety of needs. In addition to providing essential support for our racing calendar, the Clubhouse serves as a hub for social gatherings and a venue for a diverse range of local activities. From yoga and Pilates to writing groups and hosting the Flushing and Mylor Gig club, our versatile facilities cater to the dynamic needs of our community.

Availability

The Clubhouse is unlikely to be available for hire on a Tuesday evening, since it is required by members either as part of regular sailing, or through the winter for talks. Similarly, Friday evenings, in the winter we have social evenings with food provided by our caterer, and in the sailing season we welcome sailors in the RCYC race series.

Saturdays

During the sailing season, Saturday afternoons and early evenings are typically reserved to support our racing activities, where volunteers generously provide refreshments. However, there may be exceptions during Village Regattas, as these events take precedence over our regular racing schedule. Please note that the Clubhouse will be closed for a few weeks over the Christmas period, which may affect its availability during that time.

Versatile interior layout

Lightweight tables and chairs can be stacked and stowed to make a clear open space or configured to seat approximately 60 people.

The interior is airy with ventilation, heating and cooling provided by air conditioning units operated via remote controls. Folding doors give access on to the quay and windows can be opened to offer further air circulation.

Catering standard kitchen

The stainless steel kitchen is equipped with: dishwasher, oven, hob, deep-fat fryer, microwave, 2 fridges, freezer, crockery and cutlery for 60 covers.

AV system

The Audio visual system is controlled via a Sonos app, with ceiling mounted speakers.

The Clubhouse has high speed broadband and wifi connectivity.

Breakout meeting room

Ideal as a breakout meeting room, the mezzanine Race Office has fantastic views of the harbour and is well sound proofed from the remainder of the building.

Bar

A well-stocked bar offers a range of wines, beers and spirits as well as non-alcoholic beverages and soft drinks.

Note that the terms off the Licence require that a Committee member be present whenever alcohol is to be sold on the premises. Hirers will need to negotiate this with a Committee member prior to booking.

Disabled access

Access to the main entrance of the Clubhouse is by a ramp and hand rails. There is a fully equipped disabled toilet and shower

The Quay

Folding doors give access to further seating for approximately 30 people on picnic benches on the Quay.

Users are reminded that this is an unprotected Quay and that they should be aware of the drop especially at low water. Children should be supervised at all times.
